Road safety issues in Tinahely need to be addressed immediately – Aidan Kinsella Sinn Féin

West Wicklow Sinn Féin local election candidate Aidan Kinsella has raised the issue of public amenities and road safety in the Tinahely area with Wicklow County Council.

Kinsella has argued that the Council has a responsibility to public safety to address the need for a public pathway, and street lighting in the town, along with car park markings.

He called on work to begin immediately in order to prioritise public safety for the many people in the area who use the roads around the town for walking.

Kinsella said:

“I have been contacted by a number of people in the Tinahely area concerned about the safe use of the roads around the town in the absence of a pathway or street lights.

Large numbers in the community make use of Kilavany and the Lodduff road as a walkway, which must be addressed as a road safety issue as soon as possible.

Working alone with my colleague John Brady TD, I have been in contact with Wicklow County Council to call for these works to be carried out as quickly as possible.”
