Pedestrian Crossing needed at dog track on Dublin Road, Little Bray to protect children crossing one of the busiest roads in Bray – Denise Cahill Sinn Féin

Sinn Féin local election candidate for Bray East Denise Cahill has called on Wicklow County Council to immediately put in place a pedestrian crossing at the dog track, on the Dublin Road, Little Bray, where children currently run a regular gauntlet attempting to cross the road in busy traffic.

Cahill said:

“I am calling on Wicklow County Council to act to put in place a pedestrian crossing on the Dublin Road before a serious accident takes place.

I recently spoke to the family of a young child who had been hit by a car in the area, and it is evident that local children are forced to run a gauntlet with busy traffic every time that they have to cross the road here.

There are three schools in the vicinity, along with a local supermarket, all of which lead to increases in the number of pedestrians attempting to cross the road without an approved safety crossing.

And with the main crossing point from the bus stop running from the dog track, which is used by pedestrians from local housing estates is an obvious site for the crossing, which needs to be put in place before there is a fatality here.
